Georgia Bichekas, Ph.D

Hi!

I'm Dr. Georgia Bichekas and for over 30 years I have been helping people move past the roadblocks keeping them from flourishing and thriving. Whether as a faculty member at the University of Omaha’s Counseling Department, a staff member of the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Eating Disorders Unit, a national/international lecturer and educator, a Personal Life Coach or a psychotherapist my goal has been to maximize talents and develop a positive sense of self in others. In order to do that I have acquired certifications and degrees in things like Counseling, Career Development, Gerontology Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Personal Coaching, Energy Psychology, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming, Healing Touch, Nutrition, and Herbology among others…maximizing my own talents I guess. I continue to study and involve myself in things like Esoteric Philosophies, Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Spirituality to help me enhance my own positive sense of self.

As a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and Hypnotherapist my approach in dealing with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, incest and abuse, sexuality, fibromyalgia, relationships and addictive/compulsive behaviors utilizes a variety of cognitive and humanistic approaches while being always mindful of the importance of the body-mind connection and the role of nourishing the spirit. I find these strengths to be vital in the balancing of dis-ease and encouraging the flourishing and thriving of each of my clients.

In the process of Personal Life Coaching I utilize many of these same strengths in the roles of mentor, taskmaster, motivator, business consultant and sounding board. As a personal life coach I encourage, support and speed my clients’ paths of development by assisting them to:

  • Discover what might be missing in their current lifestyle and how to find it.
  • Identify and remove the obstacles that prevent them from living their dreams.
  • Strengthen their resolve and ability to achieve their goals.
  • Join external success with internal satisfaction and balance.

Whether my clients invite me to work with them as a Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist, or Life Coach its like being a personal trainer for the soul!
